IP Address Shield does provide anonymity while surfing, although it doesn't make the top ten list of IP masking tools.
The humdrum interface is easy to operate, but, for the program to work, it requires you to place your PC at risk by shutting down your firewall. It can automatically select a proxy for use, or you can filter proxies by location, port, and protocol.
Surfing with IP Address Shield was no fun. While we were hidden, our connection often hung and the server was lost in some instances. We also found it appalling that the program's efforts are completely shut down if you close your browser. Upon reopening, you'll find that you are no longer shielded and have to go through the process of selecting a new proxy all over again.
With less costly anonymity tools on the market that don't require a vulnerable system to operate, we suggest that you pass on IP Address Shield.
