Cookies are tiny files that are placed on your computer when you're surfing the Internet, letting the sites you visit remember your preferences, log-in information, and more. Although most cookies are benign, they're occasionally the subjects of privacy concerns. If you want to view and manage the cookies you've accumulated while using Internet Explorer, try IECookiesView. This simple utility makes it easy to keep tabs on cookies and ensure that you're only sharing information with sites you trust.

The program's interface is plain and easy to navigate, with menus and buttons across the top. A large display pane shows a list of cookies with the dates they were created, modified, and accessed, as well as their size, status, domain, and number of hits. Check boxes next to the cookies let users select them and take bulk actions, including deleting, destroying, and blocking them. If there are cookies stored in multiple locations or for multiple users, IECookiesView lets users easily switch between them. We couldn't get the program's Help file to load, which was disappointing; although IECookiesView is fairly straightforward, the Help file likely contains useful information that could let users get even more from the program. Overall, IECookiesView is nothing fancy, but it's a good choice if you need a basic tool that will let you view and manage your Internet Explorer cookies.

IECookiesView comes as a ZIP file. It's accessible after extraction with no need to install, and it's lightweight enough to be part of a USB drive toolkit.

Publisher's Description

From NirSoft Freeware:

IECookiesView is a small and handy utility, that displays the details of all cookies that Internet Explorer stores on your computer. It allows you to sort the cookies, delete selected ones, and view detailed information about each one and even save the cookies to a readable text file. It also allows you to view references to deleted cookies that are still stored in the index.dat file. A very nice and functional cookie viewer.

    "Not Spyware Free!!"

    September 10, 2011  |   By TheRobberBaron

    Version: IECookiesView 1.74

    Pros

The cookie application seems to work very well - easy to find, easy to delete, shares a lot of detailed information about each cookie.

    Cons

NOT SPYWARE FREE - installed the SmartNow toolbar with no advanced notice, took over my IE7 home page, changed default search engine, and now my browser runs slowly - time for a deep cleaning (shame on you CNET for not verifying the safety of this)
