CNET Editors' review
It's sometimes a tedious operation to kill a process. That trouble is eliminated with this easy-to-use application. ID Unlocker's clean interface presents all running processes along with related information. Help is succinct, but experienced users should pick up the program in just a minute.
Operating ID Unlocker takes just a click or two. The display lists processes in PID order with process path, handle, and locked path information for each item. The spreadsheet-like interface unfortunately can't sort by column. However, it is easy to select a process and right-click to unlock or kill it. A pull-down menu lets users quickly delete, rename, or move the process's executable. The move command helpfully opens the easily recognizable browse folder dialog. Another smart idea is the program's single button Unlock All command.
This useful application simplifies working with processes. The 14-day trial is short, but should give intermediate to expert enough time to see if this program fits their needs.
