CNET Editors' review
ID USB Lock Key claims to protect your computer from onlookers by locking your PC, but it failed to live up to its claims during our tests.
The program places a shortcut and a system tray icon on your desktop. We weren't able to access the program via the desktop shortcut, but right-clicking the system tray icon gave us the option of locking the computer. With our USB device plugged in, we tried to lock the computer, only to receive a prompt asking us to generate a key first. Once we clicked OK, we were greeted by the programs primary user interface. The interface seems to be pretty straightforward, but when we clicked the appropriate button to generate a key nothing happened. The interface touts a video demo to explain how the application works, but that didn't work for us either. The same can be said for the help and support links. The supplied hot key combinations didnt help either.
In most cases, a 14-day trial period wouldn't suffice, but you'll need only a few minutes to figure out that this program doesn't live up to its name. Don't waste your time here.
