Although it's not revolutionary by today's standards, Heretic II was one of the first games to offer a third-person view in a first-person shooter. It's still a fun way to explore and blast away the bad guys. As with most shooters, there are dozens of keyboard-based character controls, but Heretic II's are spaced well and are surprisingly simple to master. A grand mix of weapons and power-ups make it worth exploring every nook and cranny of the game's medieval-meets-alien world. The sound effects are spooky at first, but on repetition they can get annoying. Prevalent map tools would also be helpful in tracking location and status through the labyrinth-laden levels. Although the gameplay offers little innovation, there's still plenty of action to enjoy.

The thing i like the game is that is is 3rd person and it is jampacked with straight up action. Also the storyline is pretty neat as well.

But some of the thing i didn't like were that the download says that this is the full version but when i played it it said game demo. also it isn't anything like heretic 1

Summary
OK, I don't care for 3PS, too much. I find the controls are "awkward". Also, I love the original Heretic. It's just so much fun, runs and looks great.
But, with that on the table, here's my view of H][...
Once you get used to the controls, H][ is a lot of fun. Some of the baddies are almost impossible to get rid of. Others (like the rats) are just downright annoying (tip: just step on the rats, save your "mana"). The settings and graphics are quite good, and the game flows from stage to stage reasonably well.
There are moments when the game loads the "next" level where you just sit there looking at a blank screen. But then you're back in the action.
The story is simplistic, which is OK, since it lets you focus on shooting and exploring.
It's worth the download for the several hours of fun you'll have. -
