Despite its sunny, unsophisticated graphics, Happyland Adventures is a surprisingly challenging adventure. You play a dog who travels through an amazing land. On the way you jump over pits filled with steel knives, eating hearts and other bonuses to increase your score. You have to recruit some creatures to follow you, while others will try to eject you from the land or do you in. If you die, you have to start over. Sometimes things happen too quickly for you to have any kind of control over the situation, which isn't very fun. Still, considering it's free, Happyland Adventures is worth a download. Kids might enjoy the cartoony graphics and simple plot, but serious gamers will find their skills pushed to the limit.

Happyland Adventures was originally written for a contest at gamedev.net which it won. The game also claimed an award for best use of SpriteLib.
What's new in this version: Version 1.3.1 includes the capability to be run on all screens, has updated with compatible installers.

many levels, increasing difficulty, extra's to collect, passwords (on the christmas version), map editor, doesn't need a high powered computer to play, kiddie safe (no gore/strong language etc)

sometimes sound crashes- goes funny on latest version.
