It shows probability of successful recovery for each file. This tool can recover files from deleted and formatted partitions or create disk images for deferred recovery. It also features in-depth disk scanning for certain file types. File filtering by name, mask, date and size is available. Version 3.0 provides In-depth disk scanning for certain file types; analysis of lost MFT records (NTFS); recovery of EFS-protected files (NTFS); sector view of disk content; support for compressed disk images; file filtering by date or size; option to save recovery session.

Version: Handy Recovery 3
Pros: 1. Good to have 1 file recover daily for 30days
2. Quite easy to use. Use filter to find file(s) with its extension.
3. Scanning result can be save at disk , so you can find your file which to be recover on the other day without rescan. But the file size of scan result are big (one of my scan result file is 16Mb & I got over 30 result), so you need enough space to keep those files.
Cons: But that is not easy to find an image file without image preview, if you recover a file that is not the one you really want , you need to wait for another day. For image recovery program , a preview window is MUST. For another kind of file , it should be OK.
By the way, it did not found my lost images.

Version: Handy Recovery 3
"The BEST product for video file recovery and strong contender other files"
Pros: I needed to recover several lost avi and mpg movies. These weren't just deleted, the partition and other things really got messed up during an automated windows update. I spent days with over a dozen demos of recovery tools. I pretty much knew what I had lost so as I ran the tools I could recognize which tool could uncover the missing files. Most demo products didn't turn up anything that appeared recognizable based on file size and quantity to what I knew I had lost. Based solely on what the demos could uncover, I settled on Restorer2000 pro and Handy Recovery 3.0. I purchased Restorer2000 Pro first and found out that it couldn't recover a single playable video file. However, Handy Recovery did. Don't waste your time with Restorer2000 pro when it comes to recovering lost video files. Considering their ability to recover other file types, Handy Recovery hands-down beat out Restorer2000 pro when it came to volume and accuracy of recovered files. The other products I reviewed were: FinalData Premium 2.0, Virtual Lab 5.5.12, Advanced Recovery, File Scavenger 3.0, Recover My Files, File Recover 6.1, Easy Undelete 3.0, R-undelete 2.1, Active@ File Recovery 7.1, R-studio 3.5, Undelete Professional Edition, EAZ-Fix, Directory Snoop, Active@ Undelete, Getdataback, iRecover 2.1, Recover Lost Data 3.0, and Quick Recovery.
Cons: Quite slow to recover the files as compared to other software packages.

Version: Handy Recovery 3
"Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful."
Pros: I accidentally deleted the partition on my external hard drive and it registered as empty. This program not only recovered my files, but it did it fast. (I've used other recovery programs, and the only other one that worked took over 18 hours just to scan. It'd have taken another 6 at least to recover.)
Cons: None that I can see. Works great.

caveat - first use of data recovery software so am unable to compare to other products.
