"Very good FREE program, performs exactly as advertised"

Pros
FREE, compact, fairly quick, and has converted every type of file I have on my computer into a usable file.
Cons
The installation package, as with other Hamster products, is bundled with numerous other programs that are quite useless. BE VERY CAREFUL DURING INSTALLATION TO UNCHECK ALL THE BOXES ON THESE PROPRIETARY PROGRAMS AND GARBAGE! How CNET always this to happen is beyond me...
Summary
Not bad as long as you DO NOT install the 3rd party programs included in the installation package - quite annoying...

The user interface is very clear and simple (just like the other Hamster product I have)
I've played with it for 10 mins and it seems completely free.
Converts many different formats making it very flexibleCons
When you convert to mp3, VCL displays a picture "CONVERTED BY HAMSTER FREE AUDIO CONVERTER" - but the audio plays unchanged. Not really a con unless you don't want people to know you converted it!
Summary
If you want to convert audio formats for free, this is the one. Really useful to me as a language teacher when pupils record homework in different formats to hand in!
