This program offers a limited set of file encryption and decryption tools and suffers from strict trial limitations. GroundZero Privacy Protector's basic but intuitive interface makes it simple for users to browse files, specify an output filename, and choose a destination for encrypted files. The program offers the secured Blowfish algorithm for file encryption, though most competing applications offer more. It also allows you to enter a key to secure your file; however, the demo won't allow you to enter your own custom key, making the program unfit for encrypting highly confidential data. The encryption process is handled quickly in our tests, and encrypted files are masked with a new extension that can't be opened without the key. Although the program also quickly decrypts files, the resulting file doesn't have the original file extension or icon. GroundZero Privacy Protector also doesn't delete the original files after the encryption. While it performs well in securing files, this application doesn't hit the mark when returning files to their original state. Users can easily find other free file encryption tools without putting the quality of confidential files at risk.
