This all-purpose image editor offers high-end editing tools and support for several image formats, without the high price tag of professional software. GraphicConverter can import and export almost any image format. It offers a simple, yet powerful, set of image-editing tools, batch-conversion capabilities, and compatibility with Photoshop plug-ins. You also can create a slide show of your images. The publisher actively updates the program in response to bug reports and requests for feature enhancements, which explains its longevity as a Mac image editor. The nag screen in the unregistered version can get annoying, which just encourages you to buy the full program. Though there certainly are better image-editing solutions out there, none offer as much value as GraphicConverter.Publisher's description

Version: GraphicConverter X 5.7
Pros: The download was quick. The DMG image opened without a hitch and the simple "drag to Applications" is about as simple as it gets.
The browser is excellent and easy to use.
Cons: None.

"Versatile, handy image editor for Mac"
Pros: Simple but powerful. I've been using this for many years. Each new version has more handy features.
Cons: A few glitches, may be fixed by newest version.

Version: GraphicConverter X 5.7
Pros: Works well at doing what its a name implies, converting between formats. Its cataloging and slideshow features are also useful.
Cons: But as an editor, it falls flat (as in layers.) It has many powerful features, but often one gets ALMOST the look one wants then runs into a brick wall. In particular, its decidedly non-standard and non-intuitive implementation of transparency colours makes using it cumbersome.

Version: GraphicConverter X 5.7
"Ideal for exporting pictures in different formats or scaling/formatting"
Pros: This program reads and writes graphical formats like no others program. It also us very usefull when you want to scale, crop of edit the colours of a picture. I use it already many years and is perfect. It also replaces Photoshop until you want to edit like a professional. Then Photoshop is better for editing (but also more expensive and lacking the export facilities of GraphicConverter.
Cons: Not 100% as good as Photoshop is editing the content of pictures (but good enough for non-professionals).

"Great program to work with. It's simple and rather straightforward."
Pros: I like its ability to open almost any type of graphic document and then be able to convert it to a more universally recognized format like a jpeg.
