Version: Google Web Accelerator 0.2.93.115
Pros: Accelerates IE7&8 dramatically. Speeds up web page access very much.
Cons: When installing, it says in a browser window that "it is no longer available for download". Here's a big surprise(ha,ha,ha!) about yet another Google product:it steals your personal information. Chrome is also known for this. No Firefox support.
Summary: SpeedItUpFree but WORSE. Very fast acceleration but a SERIOUS invasion of privacy. Google does warn you in the EULA however that "some personally identifiable information may be sent to our servers". Yet another company that likes to spy on you to ... read more >>

Pros: After I download the Accelerator I get a message that the Accelerator can not be downloaded at this time. Does any one know why?

Pros: Doesnt make an enourmous amount of diffrence
Cons: No longer supported by google.
Summary: I guess google left this web accelerator because if every browser got this then people will not want to download Google Chrome. Either way i think this web accelerators technology is built into Google Chrome.

Pros: None. This software no longer exists.
Cons: Visit http://webaccelerator.google.com/. You'll see that the software is no longer available.
Summary: Cnet should remove this software since it is no longer available and no longer supported. Remember that it functions by using Google's proxy servers to cache the web page. Well, what good is this software if Google no longer supports it?
