Google and Gmail users will appreciate this flexible freebie, which provides access to a near endless list of extras. Google Extensions for Firefox adds a toolbar to the popular browser. Expandable and configurable, the toolbar is also easily opened or closed. Installation is quickly accomplished through Firefox, and overhead is negligible.
Google Extensions for Firefox opens with a default set of tools and settings. Some items require user permission to send date back to Google. It takes a click to deny permission, and is just as easy to later allow using the settings dialog. As Google and Gmail users, our testers found the basic extensions very helpful. The standard Google search box adds a double-click search history list. It's easy to specify the box search images, text, news, maps, or the other Google search subsets. Users can also add buttons to open specific Google search sets. Extending this toolbar is easily accomplished by searching through the company's extensive list of third-party buttons and simply clicking to install.
Users who log into their Google accounts can see toolbar buttons to make Gmail and Google Bookmarks instantly accessible. The default features are more than enough to recommend this Firefox toolbar, but the ease of expansion makes Google Extensions for Firefox must-have freeware.
