From Glest Team :Glest is a free 3D real time strategy game. The core game allows the player to take control of two completely different factions: Tech, which is mainly composed of warriors and mechanical devices, and Magic, that prefers mages and summoned creatures in the battlefield. Multiplayer game over LAN/Internet is available to up to 4 players.

Version: Glest 3
"Glest v3 multiplayer, new factions/maps/tilesets"
Pros: Simple to use GUI. 20+ fan made factions with dozens of new units. Egyptian, Persians, Norsemen, Indians, dwarfs, crusaders, Romans, Elves. 15 new Tilesets change the look and feel of the game world and some of the new textures are pretty darn nice.
Cons: No large campaign mode but has a simpler lua scripted scenario system.
Summary: Free 3d RTS game with nice looking models. Find multiplayer games on xfire or on glest IRC. the glest wikia has tons of info and mods
