Glarysoft's Glary Utilities is one of the most consistently popular and most frequently recommended system utilities, and why not? It bundles some of the most useful Windows-related tools in one free download. It scans and cleans your PC, cleaning temporary files, removing junk files, fixing broken shortcuts, and resolving a wide range of issues, both major and minor, that most Windows users will have no trouble recognizing. You can configure its One-Click Maintenance option to run just those processes you want with a single click, making regular maintenance just too easy for excuses. Glary Utilities has a basic but colorful (and skinnable) dialog-sized interface with tabs for Status, 1-Click Maintenance, and Modules. Glary Utilities displayed its summary findings, and we could click to view details or just press Repair Problems to fix the lot, which we did. The tool swiftly purged our system of the obsolete, unneeded, and junk data that can clog your machine over time, compromising performance and even security.
The 1-Click Maintenance is reason enough to keep Glary Utilities and run it regularly, but more excellent reasons can be found in its Modules, which let you run Glary's utilities individually as well as access many more tools, including a file shredder, startup manager, memory optimizer, registry defragmenter, and file recover and undelete tool. It also lets you run a variety of Windows utilities from Glary's interface, including the Process Manager and System Information. I paid for it on 01/25/12 (MY MISTAKE !!), and until now I haven't had any answer to my support question. The "support" email address rejects all messages, and the "sales" email address doesn't answer my messages. Looks like a scam. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY

I have read all customers reviews and I'm wondering what they are using Glary for. I PAID for it because I wanted to recover files that were accidentally deleted from a SERVER, and the PRO version claims that it can do that. I couldn't make it work, and I sent emails to "support" (that returned with the message that this email address doesn't exist) and to "sales" that never answered my messages. I FEEL CHEATED.

Finally I could recover the files using an old backup. AGAIN I FEEL THAT GLARY IS A SCAM, AND I FELL FOR IT. SHAME ON ME !!!! -

I'm wary of Glary. Last "upgrade" was just an "upgrade to pro" nag screen. I am quite willing to donate to writers of great free software like Irfanview. In fact, I have paid Irfan Skiljan three times for his wonderful viewer. But when people like Glary resort to tricks like nag screens then I'm not as willing to "support" them.

It makes maintaining your computer a lot easier. I could go edit the registry and such manually but with GU you can do it all in one fast program.

Tries to get you to install the Ask toolbar and begs for you to upgrade every so often. But still not to high a price for what it does.

Ya, unless you didn't pay attention and clicked the upgrade button it doesn't require a credit card number.

If you don't pay attention enough to read what you click you probably shouldn't be using such software.
Updated on Jan 26, 2012Just uncheck the "set ask.com as homepage" when you install it. I think unchecking a box is a rather small price for such a useful program. -

None so far, but only recently installed.
Summary
After downloading/installing an "important" MS Win 7 security update, my HP AMD laptop was persistently freezing and hanging. I probably sunk a week and many frustrating hours of troubleshooting - all without success. After running Glary Utilities and a re-boot, my problem was solved; AND I was able to successfully install the update. My trusty HP is humming along beautifully, and I feel secure -- until the next MS patch, LOL!!
