Publisher's description
From Gbridge :Securely do VNC, share files, sync folder and remote backup via Google based VPN, even behind NAT. Gbridge helps you to manage your multiple PCs, and collaborate works with close friends. You can also use it to privately exchange huge media files with your family.
Gbridge has many unique features. The built-in VNC let your remote access your PC desktop or invite your friend to see your desktop for collaboration. You can drag&drop a folder to create a share and select which friend can access. Before syncing the folder, your friends can remotely browse the folder, see the auto-generated photo thumbnail/slideshow, play MP3 online. You can sync folders among your own PCs too. Setup a recurring local or remote backup of your important folder is just easy. All services are running on top of the VPN that is automatically formed among your multiple PCs no matter where they are. You can also extend the VPN to include your Gtalk friend's PCs if both sides allow. You have full control over what resources are available to your friend. Since Gbridge creates tunnel through NAT or firewall and connects PCs directly, it gives you maximum throughput and privacy.

Version: Gbridge 1.0.0.1196
Pros: Easy to install and comes with an embed version of UltraVNC for desktop sharing. I was looking for an easy way to set up a VNC and GBridge is perfect.
Cons: So far, I have no complaints

Version: Gbridge 1.0.0.1196
"Easy to set up, useful features, unobtrusive"
Pros: Set-up is quick with no further intervention required once complete, it simply runs without the need for user involvement. Unobtrusive, not a bandwidth-hog.
It's completely free.Cons: The application uses GMail to facilitate a link with other machines, but it would be better if it provided its own web account system.
I would prefer to view folders shared by my other machine in a standard window rather than a web page.Summary: You can share folders with others on your gmail contacts or other machines you own via a web page interface that lists the folder contents, or you can set up an auto-synch to download the contents of shared folders at specified intervals. The auto-... read more >>

Version: Gbridge 1.0.0.1196
Pros: 1. Pretty easy to use especially if you already had a gmail account.
2. Great slide show for close friends with a peace of mind for privacy since the photos are never uploaded to any website!Cons: Had to have gmail account to use it!
Summary: I love to share photos with my family and hate to publish it online where "anyone" can see it (oh, for those online sites, maybe if i choose some hidden options somewhere, it will be "private".) With gbridge I know who can view the photo and when I ... read more >>

Version: Gbridge 1.0.0.1196
"Cannot rate (CNet has mandatory validation to rate :( )"
Pros: 1. Looks user friendly
Cons: 1. At the bottom of the homepage it says "Gbridge is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by Google Inc."
2.It creates a friend list and already sends some of the invitation which according to me is a breach of privacy.
3. Needs Google account. -

"I love that you can create your own VPN with this!!!"
Pros: This is a much more secure way of file sharing than anything I've seen so far -- and of course because it's based off the Google network, it's less susceptible to corruption -- and I don't see the throttling-down of speed on my Internet either!
Cons: I do wish that you could see the size of the files you're downloading instead of just a percentage -- that way you know exactly how much space it's taking up on your own machine!
