Version: Gbridge 1.0.0.1125
"best tools for syncing folder between friends, and more"
Pros: works as good and as easy as it advertised
1. remote folder sync works seamlessly between my friend's pc and mine.
2. backup works. Tested 50,000 full resolution photos and one 5G video file.
3. build-in vnc is much easier than vanilla ultravnc.Cons: gbridge sync is one-way sync. One of our folder needs to be synced both ways. We have to play the tricks to setup two back-to-back sync tasks to solve this issue.
Summary: I are using gbridge to sync several project folders with my friend over dsl network. All of our computers are behind dsl routers and don't have public ips, so lot of other sync utilities don't work. gbridge works like a charm though, I guess its goo... read more >>

"Small download packed with features."
Pros: Small download footprint (with only 1.8MB), but packed with features. I tried desktopshare and foldershare, and am impressed. The live browse (with photo thumbnail preview) is pretty neat and fast across the Internet.
Cons: The application UI can have some improvements.

Version: Gbridge 1.0.0.1125
Pros: This is a very well designed sync/communication software. Basically it makes it VERY easy to share local folders in your computer to any other pc. You set up the specific folders in your pc, and your friends can remotely browse the content of them with IE/firefox. If your folder is a photo directory, they automatically get the thumnail. If you have some mp3 files, they can listen to the songs directly within no time. Sounds cool, huh? Just try it.
For oneself, this software may have a more practical function. You can just set up the folders you want to sync between several computers. And you get the same contents in every one without any trouble.
And yes, all the computers can behind a router or sth., makes no difference.
Cons: You do need a gmail account to use Gbridge.
It has a chatting function with which you can chat with your friends, but the interface can be improved ...
