Publisher's description
From e-Citizen :GasTracker is a fuel tracking application that can graph your fuel efficiency in order to show you the fuel consumption trends for up to 4 vehicles. GasTracker was explicitly designed to help you make better decisions regarding maintenance, fuel costs, and vehicle usage. How Much Do you use your Car?I wrote GasTracker to present fuel usage information the way it should be--to best help me make crucial decisions regarding my vehicle. When you apply for automobile insurance, invariably the agent will ask you how many miles you drive your vehicle?if you give them a number that is too big, you pay more for premiums. If it is too small, the insurance company may invalidate a claim. GasTracker lets you know at a glance what you do with your car.Or perhaps you''re trying to make your annual budget? GasTracker will tell you what your weekly fuel costs are. It can give you financial data that convinces you that it is more cost-effective to buy the monthly subway ticket than to drive your car to work every day.Or perhaps you''re thinking about leasing a vehicle? Last time I was considering a lease, the salesman tried to talk me into a 10,000 mile per year rate. A quick look at my GasTracker data showed that there was no way that lease option would work.Is it Time for a Tuneup?Everyone knows that we can help the environment and save money by keeping our cars in tip-top-shape. But how do you know when you need a tune-up? Tuning your car isn''t free, and doing it too often is not the best use of your money. What really frustrated me with other gas tracking software was that there was no way to tell what your overall trend was so you can visually see when your car is losing efficiency. GraphTracker solves this problem by allowing you to graph the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. This graph, for example, shows that my efficiency went from about 22.2 miles per gallon to about 17.1 mpg. It tells me that it''s time for a tune up. Moreover the red graph shows that the overall price of gasoline has gone down in the last two months--which is probably why I haven''t "felt" my car''s problem.Of course, if you want the traditional text report, you can get that too.I hope you find GasTracker to be as useful to you as it has been to me. The $1.99 US I''m asking for it won''t even pay for a gallon of gas, but it will pay for an application that can help you make better fuel decisions.
