This space-shooter might be free, but that's about the biggest positive we found. Galactica is reminiscent of classics like Galaga, where you must destroy an assemblage of alien beings. From time to time, a few will leave the pack and advance upon you. This game's graphics and sound effects are as low budget as they come, and the fact the main window can't be resized makes it prohibitively tough to aim and dodge incoming fire. Considering its outdated design, it's hard to believe the program takes almost 13MB of disk space. To make matters worse, Galactica doesn't offer a single feature, not even the ability to disable the sound effects. This game is far from impressive, but at least you don't have to pay to find that out.
