Play just the back nine or play on several courses in this decent shareware golf game for Mac OS X. While not on par with console golf games or other retail offerings on the market, any golf addict will like the multiplayer options, physics, and gameplay of GL Golf. The demo lets you play six holes from different courses. The graphics are smooth but simple by today's standards, with conelike trees, jagged hills, and repetitive textures. The gameplay and physics are good, however, leaving you feeling pleased with your shots and able to experiment with your stroke. This latest version adds a minimap so you always know the best path to the pin. Some users might find the cheesy soundtrack gets stale after awhile, but it's easy to turn off. While we understand the shareware limitation, we would have liked to play at least nine holes on one of the courses to get a feel for the overall game. In the end, GL Golf remains challenging and makes for a nice distraction, even if it is a simple simulation with somewhat stiff shareware limitations.

GL Golf is a 3D Golf game with a realistic physics system and a great graphics, with all the features of a true golf game, such as 216 different holes, obstacles like sand traps, water, and trees, an internet highscore list, game saving and great music!

What's new in this version:

• Added one Mulligan per round of golf, or unlimited mulligans when in practice mode - Use by pressing U
• Fixed a bug where chipping the ball into the hole could lock the game up
• Fixed a bug where bouncing the ball over the hole still counted as completing the hole
• Fixed a bug where saving after a water penalty would teleport the ball after loading the game
• All sound effects now work in fullscreen mode
• Certain steep hills no longer block the came... see all new features
