Play just the back nine or play on several courses in this decent shareware golf game for Mac OS X. While not on par with console golf games or other retail offerings on the market, any golf addict will like the multiplayer options, physics, and gameplay of GL Golf. The demo lets you play a random sampling of holes from whichever of the courses you choose to play. The graphics are smooth, but simple by today's standards with conelike trees, jagged hills, and repetitive textures. The gameplay and physics are good, however, leaving you feeling good about your shots and able to experiment with your stroke. This latest version adds a minimap so you always know the best path to the pin. A cheesy soundtrack accompanies your play, which might get stale after awhile for some users, but it's easy to turn off. While we understand the shareware limitation, we would have liked at least to play nine holes on one of the courses to get a feel for the overall game. In the end, GL Golf remains challenging and makes for a nice distraction even if it is a simple simulation with somewhat stiff shareware limitations.Publisher's description

- Added a mini-map of each hole to the bottom right corner of the game screen
- Hitting from the rough or sand is now less accurate then from the fairway, tee, or green
- Hole information is now displayed on the flyby again like in version 1.84
- Fixed a bug that caused the demo to crash after completing the 3 demo holes
- Added a button to purchase the game in a web browser instead of the eSellerate engine
