GL Golf is a 3D Golf game with a realistic physics system and a great graphics, with all the features of a true golf game, such as 36 different holes, obstacles such as sand traps, water, and trees, and great music!

What's new in 1.2: A new 18 hole golf course, for a total of 36 holes. Multiplayer support, play with up to 4 people at once. New graphics for the Iron clubs. You can now choose to play the front 9, back 9, or all 18 holes of either course. All the clubs have been recalibrated to actually go their estimated distance. More physics tweaking.

Play just the back 9 or go for all 36 holes in this decent shareware golf game for Mac OS X. While not on par with console golf games or other retail offerings on the market, any golf addict will like the multiplayer options, physics, and gameplay of GL Golf. The demo lets you play a random sampling of holes from whichever of the two courses you choose to golf on. The graphics are smooth but simple by today's standards, with cone-like trees, jagged hills, and repetitive textures. The gameplay and physics are decent, however, leaving you feeling good about your shots and able to experiment with your stroke. This latest version now offers backspin for even more control over your swings. A cheesy soundtrack accompanies the action, and while some users may find it quickly grows stale, it's easy to turn off. While we understand the shareware limitation, we would have at least liked to play nine holes on one of the courses to get a feel for the overall game. In the end, GL Golf remains challenging and makes for a nice distraction, even if it is a simple simulation with somewhat stiff shareware limitations.
