From MacGIMP:

While running the GIMP on Mac OS X with X Windows is quite usable, a native Cocoa version of the GIMP would be even better. So I spent the weekend getting acquainted with InterfaceBuilder. This is the beginning of a project to bring the GIMP to Mac OS X; download it and check it out. When you gunzip and untar gimp_cocoa.tar.gz you will get a launchable app that contains the main GIMP toolkit, but less than 10% of the features currently work. If you are interested in the source code you are urged to email your request.
