While this freeware utility proves to be a whiz at calculating the frequency of letters A to Z occurring within text documents, it isn't without its flaws. Frequency Counter's interface looks glum, but it is a snap to operate. It takes only a quick browse to choose a file and a few mouse clicks to see the results. Counters are promptly displayed on the main window, and results are shown numerically and graphically. On the downside, you can't store or export results and Frequency Counter only reads text files. Considering its price tag and speedy performance, however, this specialized app can help you whether you're breaking or making codes.Publisher's description
From RUMINT.com :Frequency Counter is an easy to use utility to assist with classical cryptanalysis. It takes a text file, up to 2G, and computes the frequency of characters A-Z. Results are displayed numerically and graphically. Great for students of cryptology.
