From CommFront Communications :RS232 monitor/Terminal Emulator - allows you to control, monitor, debug, log, spy, capture, view, analyze, and test serial ports (rs232, rs485) activity. It allows users to see all data communication between any other two devices using serial ports (with an optional 2-in-1 cable), with this software analyzer and the cable, no more expensive hardware type protocol analyzer is required. Besides monitoring capability, controlling (debugger, terminal emulator) a serial device (rs-232, rs-485) becomes a simple task, you can control any serial devices, such as a camera's pan/tilt head right from your PC. Advanced features like line state control, flow control, macros are included in the software, which make controlling sophisticated & timing-sensitive device a simple task. It is useful for programmers, engineers to test/debug control software, firmware, and are widely used in industry/commercial control and automation systems, such as SCADA, PLC, Automation and AV control.

Version: Free Serial Port Monitor/Terminal Emulator 4.2
Cons: 232analyzer.com claims this programme to be free. In reality the programme is free-trial limiting the user to a maximum of 1000 characters of data capture. Suggest it is removed from Download.com for supplying false licencing information.
