Though it doesn't perform in a flash, this freeware tool effectively compacts your Registry. Free Registry Defrag's boring yet straightforward interface is really a two-step Wizard.
The first step analyzes your Registry to find the free space left from deleted entries. That step took little time to perform on our test machines. The tool then reports the size of your Registry and how much space the program could defrag. You then have the choice to end the program or continue. The final step then defrags and compacts the Registry. The speed of this step varied widely on our test machines, but you can count on some wait. However, the long wait for the process to complete was often rewarded with a boost in system performance.
Users should note that this utility does not search for nor remove invalid Registry entries. This tiny application outperforms many similar programs in its genre. All users will find benefit from using Free Registry Defrag.
Publisher's description
From iExpert Software :During the normal operation of a Windows system, registry data is constantly being written to and removed from the registry. Over time this data becomes scattered within the registry file and when information is deleted from the registry holes are left which fragment the data within the registry. Our Free Registry Defrag optimizes your registry by removing gaps and wasted space, thus improves the whole system performance. The product is fully Windows Vista and x86/x64 compatible. Version 2.35 includes unspecified updates.

Version: Free Registry Defrag 2.35
Pros: Free Registry Defrag improves performance in the registry, by removing gaps, and wasted space, in the windows registry files.
1. Analyze the windows registry for fragmented files, when it analyzes it is scanning the registry.
2. Review the analyzing results it shows the current registry size, and the estimated registry size after compacting and defragging will be.
3. Compact and defrag the current registry size. It compacted and defragged my current registry, by 20% and made my computer operate faster and smoother. Does require a computer restart, after compacting and defragging are complete.
