For a piece of freeware in a category that's rife with scams and junk, Free FLV Player stands out as a solid, reasonable program that does what it says, offers a bunch of options in the deal, and does it all without annoying predatory advertising.
The program starts off with eight skins, most of which provide significantly different looks beyond just a new coat of paint. The options menu, which is only right-click accessible, provides hot-key and menu access to several useful choices. These include fixed resizing to double the original size or full-screen viewing, maintaining the aspect ration, smoothing, nearly 20 languages, and rollover hints. It also has a built-in screencapper.
The app is not without its flaws, though. When installing, users must opt out of downloading a video-format converter made by the same publisher and the URL downloader doesn't work with YouTube. Still, the player is light on resources and generally performs as promised.

Pros: I use this as my default FLV Player from v.2.6.It gives excellent performance. In v.2.7 there were some bugs which showed the video-pictures upside down.So, I un-installed it and continued with v.2.6.While uninstalling I informed the Developers about the bugs, immediately they rectified it and replied; giving me a revised vn. of 2.7.Now, in this new v.2.8 everything works fine.The video output quality is superb,there are about 12 beautiful skins,the online button takes you to videoslurp.com,the full screen view is also good with a down-toolbar(on mouse movement).All settings are available in the 'right-click'menu.It plays not only flv videos but avi,wmv,mpg,mp4,mov,rm etc.,if you have the necessary codec installed in your pc.It will also help you to download free codecs if you want.
