Though this download manager is free, using it will cost you. Free Download Accelerator does help speed up multiple-program downloads, but the program design and lack of features make it a middling choice among many other freeware options. The program interface is plastered with banner ads and can't be resized. What's more, every time you start a download, a small dialog window pops up--which we found annoying while testing multiple downloads. Unlike other programs, Free Download Accelerator doesn't work with your browser but requires you to transfer file links to a Clipboard. Automation options are few; the only feature we found is that the program shuts itself down after completing its scheduled downloads. Overall, this is only a basic program among many other useful freeware options in the market.Publisher's description
From PcExplorer.com :Free Download Accelerator accelerates your downloads in both FTP and HTTP protocols. It supports all types of Internet connections (dial-up, DSL/ADSL, cable, satellite) and can recover from lost connections and computer shutdowns. You can use four simultaneous connections for the same file and improve speeds by up to 300 percent. Just right-click a link in your browser, and Free Download Accelerator will download the file immediately. Schedule your downloads for low-traffic periods.

"DIRECTLY RIPPED OFF OF TrueDownloader"
Pros: How could there be if it's a copy of other software?
Cons: Stolen from TrueDownloader, an open source download manager that works way better. Spyware. Hit this with Spybot - Search and Destroy and see it uncover a whole world of spyware.

"BEWARE this is ADWARE at it's worst!!!!"
Summary: On first use The program came on with a full screen (no option to reduce screen size) and what do I see but an ad banner with not one, but 3 ads. This is not acceptable to me, so I really don't know how it works, and will never find out.
