Data-backup sticklers will insist you need an archive utility with tons of features and round-the-clock support, but this affordable shareware alternative delivers a still-impressive feature set at a fraction of the cost of commercial programs. FoldersSynchronizer X provides an easy (if somewhat awkward at first) interface for synchronizing or backing up files, folders, and disks. You can conduct both operations either incrementally or exactly, so you can choose whether outdated files will be automatically preserved or deleted. FoldersSynchronizer X offers a surprising number of options for using timers, excludes, and filters (for example, you could schedule a weekly backup of just Photoshop files). You also can work easily with remote volumes, and this version even lets you back up the whole Mac OS X boot disk and make it bootable. If you're looking to archive your work or even your whole drive, this program offers everything you need.

Publisher's description

From Softobe :

FoldersSynchronizer is a nifty and popular utility for Macintosh (Classic and Mac OS X Jaguar, Panther and Tiger) which synchronizes and backs-up files, folders and disks. The user can choose one or more pairs of files/folders/disks and then they will be synchronized/backed-up exactly.

When synchronizing, the old files will be replaced with the newest files in both directions. The new files (new entries) will be copied in both directions, as well as new Folders. The old Folders will not be replaced entirely by the newer ones, as the Finder used to do, but their content will be updated with the newest files, the new files (new entries) and new Folders (new entries). FoldersSynchronizer can execute incremental or exact synchronizations. The incremental synchronization (default) never deletes items from the folders. The exact synchronization deletes from a folder, all the items no longer existing in the specular folder.

What's new in this version:

Added checkbox for "Treat file packages as folders" to the 'Settings' panel. Also 20% faster than before.
