Snoopers can't find or access the files you hide using Folder Lock, even in DOS or under other operating systems. This application provides two levels of protection: you can merely lock files and folders, or you can encrypt them using the 256-bit Blowfish algorithm. When you boot up the program, it'll ask you for a master password. Hitting the Browse link locates and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via the context menu. Encryption is limited in the free version to 25 MB.
Although the too-cute-for-words interface doesn't make them easy to find, Folder Lock does have a treasure trove of Advanced features, accessible after you hit the Options button. You can set files to be shredded, force the computer to shut down after failed entry attempts, erase document history, the clipboard and more, and enter into Stealth mode, which hides the app's presence on your computer.
The interface, which includes simple animations for no reason other than to "entertain" you, would be better served by a more standard layout that makes options readily and easily available. No doubt to excite your inner lock-breaking child, the octagonal purplish blue layout is supplemented with three more skins when you purchase the full version.
In our tests, the program demonstrated good speed, even when securing large folders. If you share a PC and need to keep certain files to yourself, you should definitely give Folder Lock a try.

"Wasted hours of my time trying to get it to work."
Pros: none to think of
Cons: Very buggy and it doesn't work after you secure your files. Even the registration is a pain because it has a 50 word password that does not want to paste in the registration box.
Summary: There must be a better program out there! I was happy with version 5.9 until I switched my external hard drive to my new 64 bit vista machine and all the files that were secured and encryted were open!

Pros: Folder Lock is really facile software,runs smoothly on my xp OS,using it on my office system and found that it also runs best on vista OS too.
Cons: Its new version is outstanding,while using the previous version I did face some bugs and reported to the customer support and I appreciate their cooperation,they do as they say,my issue was solved in 48 hours.

"TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! HORRIBLE TECHNICAL SUPPORT!"
Pros: Easy to use. The uses of the software seem good.
Cons: *BAD BUG IN THE SOFTWARE
*IF YOU USE WINDOWS XP, YOUR FILES WILL DISAPPEAR!

"File Security Software for every day use"
Pros: The product is easy to use. It is very useful for protecting sensitive files that are accessed and used on daily basis but require protection.
Cons: The product installation and use does require basic computer knowledge. The customer support is always there to help.
Summary: It looks it is developed considering requirements for a normal user. It provide very simple way to secure the files and folders. Its amazing.

"Extremely Secure Security Software"
Pros: The product works great on my vista note book,did face some problems with last versions but the new version is bug free and really works fast.
