Snoopers can't find or access the files you hide using Folder Lock, even in DOS or under other operating systems. This application also erases your Recent Documents history, so intruders don't know what to search for. The attractive locklike interface simply presents the program functions. You can click on the Browse link to locate and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via a right-click. You also have the option to shred files for permanent removal, monitor hackers who try to break in to your secured files (and shut down the computer after three wrong passwords), and enable stealth mode so would-be wrongdoers can't even see the folders you have locked. In our tests, the program demonstrated good speed, even when securing large folders. If you share a PC and need to keep certain files to yourself, you should definitely have a look at this application.Publisher's description

"Description of this program contains a lot of lies."
Pros: Do not rely on this program. It can protect your files from children only.
Cons: It is a lie that 'Lock Folder' protects folders in DOS or under other operating systems!. IT DOES NOT! All locked files are visible under DOS and other OSes.
It has basic protection only. It can encrypt files only if you move them to Locker folder (and speed of encryption is not fast). Files locked via context menu (or by pressing 'Browse') are not encrypted and they will be visible if you reboot PC in safe mode or load another operation system where LockFolder is not installed.

Cons: whenever i download and run this thing on my computer,Windows automatically shuts down and then i have to rely on my back up points......can't figure out whats wrong...

"disasterous, crashes outlook, works off and on and often asks for an ocx file"
Pros: Great only in theory
Cons: Works intermittently, crashes Outlook upon net connection on two different PCs. Often asked for an ocx file after launching the exe on all 4 PCs I tried this on. Support was OK but not able to help me solve this.

"DO NOT DOWNLOAD unless you have a great memory"
Pros: it did do what it said very good program for locking away folders
Cons: If you are like my father and have forgotten your password, you can NOT remove this product. UNLESS you PAY for registration. i emailed the compy behind the product and they did not reply. so now my father is stuck with this on his computer. you only get x amount of attemps at guessing your password then it locks your computer!!! frustratingly over secure.
