Snoopers can't find or access the files you hide using Folder Lock, even in DOS or under other operating systems. This application also erases your Recent Documents history, so intruders don't know what to search for. The attractive lock-like interface presents the program functions simply. You can click on the Browse link to locate and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via a right-click. You also have the option to shred files for permanent removal, monitor hackers who try to break in to your secured files, and enable stealth mode so would-be wrongdoers can't even see the folders you have locked. In our tests, the program demonstrated good speed, even when securing large folders. If you share a PC and need to keep certain files to yourself, you should definitely have a look at this application.Publisher's description

"If you are looking for a FREE Software ......Try "Folder Access" INSTEAD"
Pros: "Folder Access" is a 100% FREE software which will assist you to to protect your private data from unwanted access. Folder Access does not change your data so there is no chance of any data loss.
"Folder Access" has a very easy to use interface and the security of your data is always a mouse click away. Folder Access is integrated with windows explorer context menu so all you have to do is right click a folder and click on Lock Folder menu option or to unlock click on UnlockFolder menu option.
Folder Access is very fast in locking and unlocking folders so you will have never to wait for locking or unlocking a folder.
Folder Access uses global password protection to protect the application and locked folders. This makes life easy for you as you have to remember just one password for all the operations.

"Superb, Secure and boom boom!"
Pros: i use Folder Lock for 4 purposes, i.e. to password protect my files from intruders, friends and other users, to prevent possible deletion of my important files, to secure my files from worms, online threats and hackers on the internet and to encrypt plus lock my confidential files on my usb drive in seconds, since Folder Lock has an option to achieve this without the need to install itself on other computer.
I am so happy, my laptop is safe too and I don't worry about what would happen if my laptop or my data gets stolen, because it is protected with Folder Lock. Thanks for making Folder Lock.
It has been 4 years now that I have used this product and the company launches new version every 10 or 15 days. The program has improved a lot from it's first appearance, and looks terrific.

"You can't compare FL with other programs..."
Pros: Folder Lock is far better than any file security program i have used so far, with so many options, it could take you a full day to explore all the great options, yet it's extremely easy to use, hihgly recommended.

"No Security on External Drives"
Pros: Easy of install and Use
Cons: 1. I use external drives (hard disks), and no matter if the files are inside folder lock file, when I connect the external hard drive to another PC, all files are accessible.
2. The program takes this life and the next to encrypt the files, which make us lose a lot of time, just opening the encrypt file, and then closing it.
3. When the program is in hidden mode, ALT+F does not always work.
