Snoopers can't find or access the files you hide using Folder Lock, even in DOS or under other operating systems. This application also erases your Recent Documents history, so intruders don't know what to search for. The attractive lock-like interface presents the program functions simply. You can click on the Browse link to locate and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via a right-click. You also have the option to shred files for permanent removal, monitor hackers who try to break in to your secured files, and enable stealth mode so would-be wrongdoers can't even see the folders you have locked. In our tests, the program demonstrated good speed, even when securing large folders. If you share a PC and need to keep certain files to yourself, you should definitely have a look at this application.Publisher's description
From NewSoftwares :Folder Lock is fast file-security software that can password-protect, lock, hide, and encrypt any number of files, folders, drives, pictures, and documents in seconds. Locked files are undeletable, unrenamable, unmovable, hidden, and inaccessible. You can lock, scramble, or encrypt depending on speed and security. Folder Lock is fully portable, so you can protect your files on USB flash drives, disks, CD-RWs, notebooks, and hard disks, and it doesn't require installation on another PC. Folder Lock protects files in Windows, DOS, and Safe modes, even when you change your OS or boot from a disk. Folder Lock doesn't let you delete its own program folder, and it can't be uninstalled without the correct password. The program blocks coworkers, kids, peepers, hackers, viruses, spyware, networks, and all online and offline threats. Additional features are, stealth mode, hacker monitoring, the ability to erase PC tracks and shred files, autolocking, auto shutdown, and a context menu.
Version 5.3.5 adds a new feature that automatically locks the 'Locker' files and folders even if you forget to lock them and shutdown or restart your computer. It works only when the program is running at the time you shutdown your computer.More popular Encryption Software downloads

Version: Folder Lock 5.3.5
Pros: Can't go wrong with this encryption software. Easy to click and lock. Nice flashy interface catches my attention.
Cons: A little confusing at first, but give it 10 minutes and you'll get the feel of it. The expense is a little high for this program, but if you really use it then it is well worth the cost.

"Perfect software & Perfect Customer support come together."
Pros: "I now use it daily... it is excellent software! I can protect an entire folder, drive or USB Flash Drives, Memory Sticks, Pen Drives and Zip Drives with just one password and it's so quick and easy too... ".I use folder lock in my clinic to keep patients data private and secure so nobody can see them when I am away from my computer. It also gives you a perfect gift which is a simple game but the games take you away out of Stress as it is called. Not only I use it everyday but also enjoy it.

Version: Folder Lock 5.3.5
"Great simple little app that does what it's supposed to do."
Pros: The basic process of locking the special documents you want locked is easy. Folder Lock scrambles the data inside its (one) LOCKER folder and you must have the password to unscramble (access) it. There are 3 levels of security, but probably the lowest (and fastest) level is enough for most folks (including me). At least once/week I unlock my folder and back it up straight to CD without encryption. That CD is safely hidden and I can always get the data back without having to reinstall in case of a HD crash.
Some interface items are unique and different from many other Win apps; they take a bit of getting used to. E.g., actually finding the "check for updates" option was difficult. It turns out that the easiest way is to check the website regularly. The link was in there, somewhere. ;-)
Overall I do like Folder Lock, and I've come to depend upon it. I don't think it's overpriced at all.
Cons: ONLY ONE SPECIAL FOLDER may be locked. Some things take just a bit to get used to. But after playing around for a while (on a small expendable duplicate folder I created) Folder Lock yielded most of its secrets. To download revision updates (as in 3.1->3.2) you MUST keep your order number and use the same email address, then a link is sent. That's a bit inconvenient - but updates are FREE!
