Snoopers can't find or access the files you hide using Folder Lock, even in DOS or under other operating systems. This application also erases your Recent Documents history, so intruders don't know what to search for. The attractive lock-like interface presents the program functions simply. You can click on the Browse link to locate and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via a right-click. You also have the option to shred files for permanent removal, monitor hackers who try to break in to your secured files, and enable stealth mode so would-be wrongdoers can't even see the folders you have locked. In our tests, the program demonstrated good speed, even when securing large folders. If you share a PC and need to keep certain files to yourself, you should definitely have a look at this application.Publisher's description

Folder Lock is fully portable, so you can protect your files on USB flash drives, disks, CD-RWs, notebooks, and hard disks, and it doesn't require installation on another PC. Folder Lock protects files in Windows, DOS, and Safe modes, even when you change your OS or boot from a disk. Folder Lock doesn't let you delete its own program folder, and it can't be uninstalled without the correct password. Version: Folder Lock 5.2.6
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is THE ONE."
Pros: Works easy, very reliable. Three levels of security - 1) Lock files/folders 2) Scramble files/folders (this is a combination of both locking the files/folders and encrypting the files/folders) and 3)Encrypting the files/folders. I'm very happy with this product and think it's worth every penny!
Cons: The only downside to this software, is that it takes too long to encrypt/decrypt the files/folders (but hey, they DO warn you about that when you're chosing which method to secure your files/folders. It takes me an average of 10-15 minutes.

"Works as claimed and easy to use!"
Pros: Does what it says it will do regarding hideing your protected folders and files. Haven't tried other features yet but assume they will work as well. Best part is that it will hide your selected folders on CD's and DVD's. This is especially usefull if you want to keep personal data off your hard drives; giving you double protection.
Although the advertising mentions RW disks, it works for me on CD-R disks as well on my system using WinXP.

"Powerful yet very easy to use"
Pros: Extremely attractive and intuitive graphical interface allows me to quickly secure my sensitive files on local hard drives as well as a usb pocket drive. The right-click option to lock a file or folder is particularly nifty. The invisibility of locked files and folders adds an additional layer of security. An indispensable utility at a bargain price.

"A must have for all PC users"
Pros: I found this program to be very easy to use as well as it looking very good. I would reconmmend every one to purchase it. I use this for all my files from work so I know my documents are safe on the computer at home. I have been looking for a program like this that I can trust for a very long time.
Cons: I have yet to find any.
