Place your favorite folder shortcuts on the right-click menu with this handy freeware utility. Folder Guide's compact button and results window interface won't take more than a minute to understand. Even the single page Help file is superfluous.
Operating this utility is a piece of cake. Simply click Add to create an alias and insert the folder path. A built-in browse function makes it easy to navigate to the folder. The alias is immediately available under the Folder Guide option on the right-click menu. With a click you can sort the aliases alphabetically, or reorder them using simple Up and Down buttons. Keeping different sets of aliases is easy with Export and Import functions. Our testers found that the program uses few resources, and the quick access to favorite folders saved them time and trouble.
While this is freeware that works very well, we did wish for the ability to set a different font for the aliases. Nevertheless, novices to expert users will find this utility a very useful timesaver.

Version: Folder Guide 1.1
Pros: This tiny little program has undoubtedly saved me hours upon hours of annoying window/folder navigation several months into using it. I use it at home and work to instantly navigate through my most commonly used folders. It has speed up my navigation in my own computer 100 fold.
The program is small, unobtrusive and simply stores itself in your desktop/windows explorer right-click menu. It only takes one slot. Once you click the folder guide in your menu, you instantly have all the directories you have stored. 1 more click and you are there. This freed up a lot of icons off my desktop and task bar (i.e. my music, etc.)
Absolutely bug-free, after months of using this program, I have not had one problem, crash, lock up or anything (XP Pro) regarding a negative experience. If you do any kind of project work with miles of directories to double-click, download this application immediately and save yourself, your wrist and fingers the hassle. Trust me, a must have, you cannot go wrong with this.
I just happened to pop in here to check for an update but found none, 1.1 seems to be the only version. Thought I would take the time and say how good this utility is. PC Magazine.com (how i found it)and a host of others have it as a top essential free utility for Windows. I cannot agree more.
Cons: The only negatives I give this program is that you cannot add separators and it cannot access 'My Computer' or any removable media (CD's, flash drives) as a choice to instantly snap you to a location. If I had those two things, I would be in hog heaven. If only this was included in any Operating Systems...
