Publisher's description
From Lorenzo Colitti and Philip Chee :Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks all of the Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.
CNET Editor's Note: The Download Now link will prompt a local download of the Firefox extension. To install the extension directly, open the file using your Firefox browser.

Version: Flashblock 1.5.1
"a way to block those anoying flash Ads"
Pros: Finally a way to block all of the flash ads or any other type of flash you do not want to be playing on your PC. All of the flash being blocked form the site are replaced with place holders with a "play" button so you are able to see the flash if you want to see it.

Version: Flashblock 1.5.1
Pros: Just, wow. This is an amazing extension. It speeds up the loading time of countless sites (even Download.com) and replaces all Flash applets with a nice little Macromedia "f", and it even keeps the original proportions of the applet, so the page isn't distorted at all. A simple click and it loads just as fast as it normally would, and in the exact same way. (Plus, it's another great way to cripple those annoying talking ads.)
Cons: None. Not a performance hit in sight. (But, of course, how many resources does it take to not load something?)

Version: Flashblock 1.5.1
Pros: One word. Fantastic! It blocks those annoying color changing ads all over myspace and stops peoples profiles that have around 1o videos on their pages. It stops the ads with the smileys that make faces and noises and buzzing bug ones as well on photobucket.com. It also helps websites load faster.

Version: Flashblock 1.5.1
"Block unwanted flash, see wanted flash."
Pros: Automatically blocks all flash ads and replaces them with a Flashblock icon. To see the flash, just click the icon. It's very simple and solves the huge problem of unwanted flash ads. This is today's equivalent of a pop-up blocker. Take back your internet viewing and never have to see an obnoxious flash ad again.
Cons: None.
