Adobe's latest version of the Flash Player browser plug-in is just as trouble-free as previous versions, existing unobtrusively in your system until Web-based animations, games, or ubiquitous Flash ads require its services.
The latest version downloads and installs quickly, and will probably always require a browser restart. Our tests turned up nothing to make us scratch our heads, and upgrading from version 9 to the current one has fixed for many people a bug that caused embedded video to freeze.
You need a Flash Player to experience the Web at its fullest, so users at any level of expertise should have no qualms about installing or upgrading to Flash 10.

"choppy, no buffering, can't rewind without reloading"
Pros: everyone requires flash, so when a new player that fails so miserably gets released it is really disappointing.
Cons: My biggest issue is NO BUFFERING. Hello, Adobe (or whoever owns you now)...we don't all get cable or T1 lines. If you are on a slow connection trying to watch a high quality video..you get 2 seconds of play, 4 seconds of black, 2 seconds of play, etc

Pros: My computer gets rebooted often. Actually went and looked for other photo/picture editing software. Based on Flash, I will NOT be buying or using free stuff from Adobe. Constantly crashing my IE led me to Google Chrome browser.
Cons: Constant errors. And according to Adobe, Flash is very prone to crashing IF you take advantage of the ability to open tabs in most browsers. Yeah, that makes sense. Set up your app so that users cannot take advantage of the advances of technology.
Summary: There is nothing good I can say about Adobe Shockwave Flash Player. It is constantly crashing. If you are using IE, it totally crashes your browser as well. Unfortunately, you really can't NOT have this horrible piece of softwar loaded. I will NOT b... read more >>

"Adobe has really bombed on this one - terrible product"
Pros: Nothing - it fails to allow buffering like the old ones did, so plays in jerks, fits, and starts.
Cons: What a piece of crap! I was smart enough not to download Adobe's Download Manager (scanned the Web first, and read other people's warnings), but even so, Flash Player 10 REALLY SUCKS! It runs at about the speed of an Apple II+, and no buffering!
