Publisher's description
From FixTunes :Automatically fix your incorrect, missing, and misspelled MP3 tags (such as artist, album, title, track, year and genre). No typing necessary. FixTunes scans your music collection and automatically downloads the correct information for each file from a database of over 3 millions songs (including obscure and less-popular music). Clean your entire music collection while you sleep, watch TV, or play outside. FixTunes has options for renaming filenames according to a format you specify and excluding compilations (such as "best of" or "greatest hits"). Download FixTunes and stop manually fixing your MP3 information.
Version 1.3 features minor improvements and bug fixes.

Version: FixTunes 1.3
"An unreliable ID3 tag re-namer for a fee"
Pros: If sufficient ID3 info exists, it performs well enough. It seems to weigh ID3 tag info more than the filename. Even common and obvious bands/songs were sometimes completely relabeled incorrectly.
Cons: Misses some files completely. Gets other files COMPLETELY wrong. Piece of advice: DO NOT USE THE FILE RENAME OPTION!!!! When this program screws up your ID3 tags (and it will on more than a few), you will at least have the correct file name so that you can correct the wrong info in the tag.
I now have the pleasure of going through my music collection to figure out what has been labeled incorrectly (yay!). So far i have found many. Do yourself a favor and review EVERY suggested change before hitting that "FIX" button.

Version: FixTunes 1.3
"This would almost be worth it..if it were Free."
Pros: If your music collection is totally FUBAR, then this will help...a little. However, if your files are even remotely organized, this thing is probably going to make things worse rather than better.
Cons: 1) Can't find some (a LOT) of songs.
2) Album art doesn't attach to many of the files it does find
3) DON'T!!!! Let it move your music files
4) Terrible and awkward user interface
5) Even if you identify a song FOR it, it often doesn't recognize, and can't fix, the song
6) S.L.O.W.

Version: FixTunes 1.3
"Extremely helpful in getting my music organized!"
Pros: Version 1.3 was the first version out of FixTunes EVER, so they have come a long way in the past 4 years. They are now on version 4.6 so the bugs have been worked out. Customer support also makes every effort to answer all user questions. They are very willing to work with users who have any trouble using the software. The save button was added with version 2, then taken away with version 3, users seemed to like this function so it was added back with version 4. You can save your data song by song if fixing all your music at one time is too much. I think the software is the most helpful for users with a lot of music to get organized. If you only have a couple of songs that need tag information it may not be the software for you. But, it scanned through my music and only takes a couple of seconds per song to label identified/unidentified then it takes a couple of seconds per song to fix the music. Now my music is spelled correctly and I have the missing album art. It is also helpful because every time I get new music I can update it with FixTunes. There have also been a lot of updates that you're aloud to upgrade to once you purchase the software, so every time a new version is released I can upgrade.

Version: FixTunes 1.3
"Stay away from this and also version 2"
Pros: It will allow you to rename ID3 tags and also download album pictures.
Cons: This is a very poor piece of software. I tried version 2 also and it was also really bad. The user interface is loaded with bugs. I mean, there is a LOT of bugs. Its ability to get the correct ID3 information is not very good at all. This is a piece of hack software! It is also quite slow and will only search for one file name at a time. It takes at least 15 seconds per song. Searching in parallel would spead things up. The program did not save any time. Actually it is slower to use this program then it is to just go to Amazon and look the information. And then you would get the correct song details. If you are thinking of using this software, don't It and version 2 are total pieces of crap. Now I must go find another program to edit my mp3 files.... I need to correct a lot of the damage FixTune created

Version: FixTunes 1.3
"Another 3rd party server connection."
Summary: Well, the write up on this software looked extremely positive and I desperately need an "Mp3 Wrangler" so I decided to check it out.
I first thought bad things were happening when I was presented with a log on screen, much like a livejo... read more >> - See all 39 user reviews Write review
