CNET Editors' review
Quickly and easily grab screenshots and edit them with this handy Internet Explorer add-on. Although it's lacking a few of the niceties included with the version for Firefox, this freeware is still impressive.
FireShot for Internet Explorer places a nondescript button on your toolbar. The button contains a drop-down menu with options for editing and capturing screenshots, and accessing your preferences. But unlike the Firefox version, it does not include a status bar shortcut icon, which was nice for one-click access to buttons for editing, uploading, copying, and e-mailing captured screenshots. During our first go-around, we clicked the toolbar button. A nag screen harassed us each time we clicked a command. Our screenshot instantly appeared in a separate window that contained options for uploading, exporting, and saving the image. We especially loved the options for cropping, adding text, and drawing on the screenshot. Each editing feature was very easy to understand and to operate.
The editor and style and placement settings under the Options menu took a little time to figure out, and a Help file would have definitely been a nice addition. Still, we found this to be a very capable program, suitable for intermediate users and above. If you're a blogger, this free tool is a great way to add customized screenshots to your posts.

"It doesnt work on Windows 7 and internet explorer 8"
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.81
Pros
the free version worked Ok and free update to pro was OK. I purchased the pro version tonight and it wont load, or take my license key. Very frsutrating as I need aweb editting solution quickly.
Cons
I've wasted 3 hours trying to get it working and try to get support
There is nothing I like about this product and its glitches in compatibility with WIndows 7Summary
Unfortunately, a website provider is using Fireshot for a Medical conference program 100 Years of Tropical Medicine I am convener of. I cant send errors or updates to him using his product and done have time to try and diagnose glitches.
DOnt buy this product if you have Windows 7 and Explorer 8 until the bus are taken out. -
"Horrible software. Can't uninstall."
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.78
Pros
Can't think of anything good.
Cons
I downloaded this for Firefox and it prompted me to download for IE as well. It ruined my IE settings including proxy and LAN settings. There is no way to uninstall it. Had to manually install IE and redo the proxy settings.
Summary
If you want a good capture tool, use SnagIt. I don't know if there is a free version or not. I've been using it for a while now and I have had no problems with it.

"Love Firefox Version; Hate IE Version"
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.78
Pros
Once a default action is set just click the Fireshot toolbar button and it will perform the default action (except save).
Cons
Will not save any web pages even though it says it has.
Summary
I love the Firefox version but hate this IE version.
With the Firefox version I had no problems with saving a web page; just capture and save. With the IE version no matter what I do when the program says it's saved it's not.
I'm using:
OS: Windows 7
Browsers: IE 8.0.7100.0; Firefox 3.5.3 -
"Piece of crap"
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.61
Pros
None. cant think of one
Cons
Causes my browser to crash
Summary
Great concept; lousy execution. When it did work it only captured part of an image and a lot of the black border. When not in use caused WinXP to close my browser with warnings of suspect add-on or unsafe program. Find another screen shooter.

"Super Disappointed w/IE version"
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.61
Pros
It's fine with small to mid-size screenshots but see my main "con" below.
Cons
I can't believe this only works from the toolbar and not the context menu. As a result, I cannot yet find a way to take page size screenshots without Fireshot's drop-down box options being caught in the screenshot, too.
Summary
There's other screenshot programs out there to explore. I like the features and general ease of us with this one but why limit yourself to less than full power if you can find another program that does it all without interfering with the large images?

"Excellent Program"
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.61
Pros
It does just what they say and does it well. Uninstall included.
Cons
Works only from the FireShot toolbar in IE, not from the context menu as with Firefox.

"Fireshot wipes out google tool bar"
Version: FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.55
Cons
Fireshot seems to wipe out other IE add ons such as google toolbar and accessibility toolbar, then refuses to uninstall fully so that the other addons can be reinstalled
