CNET Editors' review
A handy BlackBerry file manager, FileScout does more than just find. Sure, it creates a desktop-like file tree to help browse for files and folders on your BlackBerry's SD card and internal storage, but FileScout can also zip files and folders, create directories, and copy whole files and folders. You can rename and delete content, attach files and folders to e-mails, and search through directories, even with a wild card. Thumbnail images are left out of search results in this version, but are on their way.
We like how the app also lets you copy, edit, and delete text files, and how it can rotate and resize images as a menu item. This version isn't integrated into the main BlackBerry menu as a search option, but that's forthcoming, as is support for the BlackBerry Desktop Manager's backup and restore settings.
Publisher's Description
From Emacberry:
FileScout for BlackBerry is a file manager for your BlackBerry device. Beside the core functionality like browsing over the file system of your BlackBerry, create directories, copy, move, rename, (un)zip or delete files, or open your media files directly. FileScout for BlackBerry also allows you to open files (like ini, and xml) as plain text so you are able to edit, mark, copy, and paste text fragments of these files that normally can't be opened with your BlackBerry. Additionally FileScout for BlackBerry allows you to easily save your favorites, search for files, manipulate images (resize and rotate) or send files via email or Bluetooth.
