This simple utility for splitting and joining files is very easy to use, but it s also quite limited. File Splitter Deluxe s bland main interface is all business but isn t likely to confuse most folks. After selecting a file you want to split, you can choose from a list of presets--such as 100K and 2MB--to determine how large each section of your chopped file will be. Marking the Customize box gives you even more presets to choose from, but we were bewildered to find you can t actually enter a truly custom file size yourself. It s also a shame the program won t split files in batch mode. Still, it is handy that you can rejoin the pieces by simply clicking the BAT file the application generates in the same folder as the file fragments. In our tests, File Splitter Deluxe proved to be quite speedy, but since the demo won t actually let you dice up files larger than 4MB, we don t know how fast it will be with large items, which seems to be this program s specialty. In spite of its shortcomings, folks seeking a hassle-free way to chop up files might at least give this one look.Publisher's description
From SoftDD Software :Split large files (of any size or type), then easily rejoin without the use of this software. Easily break up large files (no limits, splits any sized file) for copying to floppy or sending via email, as anyone can recreate the original file without having this software. When you split your files, a small program is created in the same folder and can be distributed with your split files, which will allow anyone to recreate the original file, with the original name. You can also print any folder contents, keep track of total files split, and view your available RAM memory. This software has been tested on files over 30 gig in size.
Version 4.3 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Version: File Splitter Deluxe 3.4
Pros: Works great on large files - I used on a 21 gig file without a problem, which was the reason i bought this, but have used it alot mroe since then. I like the fact you can send the batch file to anyone for rejoining, its nice not needing the program to rejoin files.
Cons: You will have to buy it to use it since its isn't freeware.

"Not good for file sizes over 30MB"
Pros: none

Version: File Splitter Deluxe 3.4
"Free trial too severely hobbled for proper evaluation."
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Could not handle 1 gig file, therefore it is impossible to determine its effectiveness with respect to splitting large files.
