This program doesn't hide files, but it does block any access to them through password-protected locking. File Securer lets you quickly lock files using the right-click context menu in Explorer or by dragging them onto the program window. Judging by the speed of locking, the files are not encrypted. The locked files are marked with a special extension and icon, so anyone can spot them easily. You can choose among several skins, including Mac OS and Windows XP. We don't recommend the program for protecting sensitive data, but it suffices to stop your curious colleagues or family members. If your system runs under Windows 2000 or XP, you can use profiles and security policies with the same result, but File Securer is more convenient.Publisher's description
From Friday Software :File Securer is designed to protect your sensitive folders and personal files. The program embeds protection into the Windows system kernel, both in command and window modes. File Securer lets you lock your folders and files anywhere. The locking and unlocking object functions are integrated into the system menu. Select an object, right-click the mouse, and click lock or unlock. If someone wants to access your locked object, the system will ask for a password. The tools will record the error passwords and the user, and then report to you.
