Version: File Scavenger 3.2
"IT WORKED WHEN OTHERS DID NOT!"
Pros: One morning when I tried to access my Adobe Lightroom files, I found my external hard drive with some 13,000 photos (265 gig) had crashed. the drive letter was there, but the drive was "Empty" Windows asked if I wanted to format it. I bought one program to restore the files, and it ran for 49 hours. It found the files, BUT it changed every file name and lost the folder structure. If you know Lightroom, it works in a database, so while I had the photos, it meant loosing all of my edits and all of my kewording and more.
Thankfully I found File Scavenger. It ran a scan in only 38 minutes, found all of my files (but about 5% were damaged in the drive failure) AND also retained all of the folder and file structure. It was almost a miracle. There is even a "tree view" showing the file structure. Plus you can search for any file type you want...their list as well as ones that are specialized such as the sidecar files for lightroom, *.xmp.
I did have some questions, and the staff was wonderful. Emails were answered almost as fast as a chat. This program works better than anything I could have hoped for...give it a try (free trial) and check it out.

Version: File Scavenger 3.2
"Ease of use and the most important aspect the tremndous support"
Pros: I like it becuase it is relatively simple to operate but the overwhelming factor for me was the level of support. I have emailed for help and have had a reply in 5-10 minutes.I could notbelieve my eyes.Having had terrible service from other software suppliers it came as welcome surprise. help when you need it most is a very important factor whan considering such a purchase
Cons: I can't find anything to dislike about the software but I think it would be an advantage if there was a booklet or ebook with a troubleshooting sector and one of FAQs

Version: File Scavenger 3.2
"File Scavenger Saved The Day"
Pros: What I liked about File Scavenger 3.2 is that it actually worked as described unlike dozens of other programs I tried previously. The cost is more than reasonable. Special note here is their Support which has proven to be exemplary. I was able to recover 99.9% of my data from a corrupted removable hard drive. Other programs I tried could not even access the disk, no less retrieve data. Overall, it is quite easy to use. I would recommend this program to anybody. The price at $49.00 is the best investment for anyone just to have the program installed in case of failure. Bookmark this site!
Cons: Sometimes the Scans do lockup and fail tho nothing is lost in the attempt. There is no Folder Specific search in the Long Scan mode and there is no Deleted Files Only option.
