This recovery tool capably finds lost files even on spanned and stripped volumes. The application worked well in our testing, finding not only recently deleted files, but also items without a name or path. File Scavenger has a straightforward interface that lets you execute all operations without going to the main menu. You can restrict searches by defining disk sectors and filename masks. Found items are displayed as a list or in a folder tree. File Scavenger recovers not only files, but also folders when it can so you won't have to arrange thousands of files manually. It doesn't have a built-in file viewer. The program doesn't take many resources and can easily run in the background. The major drawback is that it can't run without Windows. If you have multiple volumes on a Windows computer, File Scavenger seems well worth the download.Publisher's description
From QueTek Consulting :File Scavenger is a file-undelete and data-recovery utility. Files accidentally deleted from Windows Explorer, the Recycle Bin, the command line window, or a network share can be recovered along with the original folder name and dates. Reformatted volumes, broken spanned volumes, or broken hardware and software RAID volumes also can be recovered. Digital photos on almost all media can be recovered.

Version: File Scavenger Data Recovery Utility 3.2
"Buy MagiCure for a about the same, get lots more!!!"
Pros: It does what it says
Cons: Excessive price. It makes no sense to pay for this type of software so much. My MagiCure can do that but much more: Magicure can recover files, images, music, software errors, windows and registry problems, defective definitions and more?
Summary: This product works as claimed. There are products out there that have the same feature as only one part of their package. You can get more for the same money.

Version: File Scavenger Data Recovery Utility 3.2
Pros: Recovered deleted videos from my Canon Vixia Camcorder. My Windows 7. Easy Interface. I was able to use it right away without reading any complex instructions.
Cons: None. It works. Worth every penny.
Summary: In a stupid move, I deleted all videos from my Canon Vixia HG20 Camcorder's hard drive. They were priceless HD videos of my son's first Halloween. I installed File Scavenger Data Recovery Utility (I'm running Windows 7). It recovered every single... read more >>

Version: File Scavenger Data Recovery Utility 3.2
Pros: I did not expect much after my SD card was corrupted. But it recovered all my music, photo and excel documents. What a surprise!
Cons: Interface may not be intuitive to some. But at the same time, I liked the fact you can direct files to any driver, assign a folder or place it on the desktop.
Summary: Would highly recommend.
