Publisher's description of File Renamer Basic 2.1
From Sherrod Computers:The extremely easy-to-use File Renamer allows you to rename many files at once. Version 2.0 added the ability to rename folders. In addition, you can rename MP3 files based on ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, and you get a tag editor. The renaming features apply to sequential numbers, letters, dates, file filters, and you can find or replace part of the filename. You can delete characters, put letters in uppercase or lowercase, add or remove file extensions, and place separators in multiple locations.

Version: File Renamer Basic 2.1
Pros: Great delete/remove from filemane feature. Able to erase track number from file name (prefer to search by alphabet).
Cons: Can not change genre on ID3, except from their own list one by one. Can ad to current filename one by one only. Cant' paste.

Version: File Renamer Basic 2.1
Pros: This program is very nice. A huge work saver. Often times when I backup files onto a CD the filename will change to upper-case. After a re-install of Windows I would have to rename every file for my website. This program can save you days of work...
I highly recommend this program to the professional and non-professional will find File Renamer easy and fun to use.
I compliment the creators of this software and hope they continue to release a free version of this software.

Version: File Renamer Basic 2.1
"does only one thing, but does it the best"
Pros: great little program that let's you preview any file name changes, before making the permanant changes. the paid version allows you to undo. File Renamer Basic has saved me so much time on many occasions that I guess I really should pay them. I'm looking at their website now, and the Deluxe Version only costs $10, and you get extra features like drag and drop, saving settings, and most importantly, undo rename.
Cons: I never used the ID3 feature, so I can't talk to it. but I do wish this application could also change the dates of the file creation, last modified, etc.. right now, I have to use a separate application for that, AttributeMagic.

Version: File Renamer Basic 2.1
"The best program thus far for renaming mp3 flles - bar none."
Pros: Light and powerful file renaming program. Edits files to any personal requisites and then some. Light in size but powerful and fast. Takes no more than 10 minutes to grasp how it works and (for me) about an hour to rename 2,000 plus songs that were a total mess.
Cons: Undo feature only works with paid version, so be careful when editing songs.

Version: File Renamer Basic 2.1
Pros: Excellent for doing batch renaming of files you downloaded from the internet (like MP3s) or files you create yourself (like pics from a digital cam). "Preview" feature assures you don't mess up.
Cons: I wish the program remembered the settings I deselect under "File Name Properties" as I don't usually use the settings it checks for me by default.
