Notwithstanding minor annoyances, this simple, effective application allows users to access and change the date and time of creation, and the last-accessed or last-modified information of any file on their systems. File Properties Changer's dull but effective interface displays directories in a folder tree and files in a nearby windowpane. However, it offers no Up or Back button to retrace your steps through the directory tree. File Properties Changer's main functionality falls under two tabs: File and Group of Files. The File function lets you modify the properties of any file, including its attributes and extension. Particularly useful is the Group of Files tab, from which the user can simultaneously modify and configure all files within a folder. Unfortunately, all files within the folder must be modified, not just a selected subgroup. The program backs up reconfigured files to avoid losses, which is very handy. You can even save and print the list of modified files for reference.

We also like that modifications made to the files are untraceable--even a modified file's icon reflects the new file extension. With its fast and reliable results, File Properties Changer suits almost any user, but especially security-conscious ones.
