You can take this simple file protector and deletion tool with you, but not all functions work on USB drives. File Locker's menu and onscreen-instruction interface is easy to understand and operate. This is an app that inexperienced users should be comfortable with. It doesn't install, but the program requires users set a master password on first run. The app doesn't add an obvious Registry entry, but the demo does track use time.
Operating File Locker is as simple as choosing one of the three functions from the interface menu. Then it's merely a matter of browsing or choosing options. Locking a file or folder takes a button click and a file browse. There are three locking levels. Level One locks; Two encrypts; and Three does both. File Protection blocks locked-file deletion and editing, but only while File Locker is running. Secure Delete overwrites a file with random characters a user-set number of times. The publisher warns using the function on flash drives will damage the drives.
Novices should give the easy-to-use Operating File Locker a test. Experienced users will probably want more flexibility.

Version: File Locker 5.5
Pros: I love File Locker! It has everything i need - encryption and protection. The support staff are very helpful and extremely fast (i got a reply in minutes!). I have told all my friends and family about this program and continue doing so - everyone should have it.
