It's not often you'll find a demo that suffers from hubris, but this file compression tool might be the one. File Joiner's simple interface practically begs for drag-and-drop functionality, but fails to include that option. A file browse function reskins the common Windows interface to match the program's design and makes the function less intuitive. Don't bother looking for a Help file. The publisher didn't bother adding one.
File Joiner appears to work as promised. A simple click on the Add Files button opens a second interface. Click another button to open a file browse window. Then yet another click to choose the file. Yes, we also wondered if the process could be shortened. Each file can be encrypted with a simple slider to choose percentage of encryption. The publisher doesn't explain the encryption algorithm or how levels differ.
Get all the files you plan to join and press the Join Files button. Choose a name and you have a new executable. The publisher promises that the executable contains all your files and a simple double-click will launch the files resting inside the executable. Unfortunately you can't test that most important function. Double-click the joined executable to instead reveal a dialog that displays This is just a DEMO!
Publishers that opt to not let users even test the program's most important function shouldn't expect many takers. File Joiner adds insult to injury with a mere seven-day demo. There are numerous tools in this field. We suggest you skip this one.
Publisher's description
From Keylogger Spy :File Joiner is a tool that combines (joins) unlimited files (no matter their type) into a single standalone executable (a Container file). The Container (the final bound file) is a compiled program that, when opened, will automatically launch the included files. File Joiner can run any type of file from the bound file (the container) without affecting its direct functionality.
The included joined files can be fully encrypted. Version 2.01 option to set file encryption (and set the encryption level); option to set the residence directory and execution; and possibility to change the icon from any .ico file.
