Editor's review of Family Internet TV

  • "Poor picture quality"

While this video player does come preloaded with tons of channels, it also comes with nag screens, error messages, and poor picture quality.

Each time we tried to access Family Internet TV, we were hit with a nag screen asking us to purchase the program. It has an easy-to-navigate user interface. Simply choose the kind of media you want to play--TV/Video, Radio/Music, YouTube--and select the specific channel from a long list. The file then plays in a large window. As we navigated through the hundreds of preloaded TV and radio files, we found that some played and some didn't. The video picture quality wasn't great. We also encountered an error message when we clicked on the YouTube menu that caused the program to shut down completely. Adding our own channels to the player was fairly easy, and was accomplished by entering the channel name and URL. The program comes with an adequate Help menu, should you need it.

Though it claims to have a 15-day trial period, in reality, it's only 10 days. The time restriction won't come into play for most users, who won't stick with the unimpressive program for longer than a couple of days before removing it entirely.
