Facebook's application for the iPhone and iPod Touch with 2.0 firmware shines as a concentrated effort to import the essential functionality of Facebook.com onto the iPhone and iPod Touch while adding perks distinct to the mobile experience. We mean the clear chat window that showcases for the first time the viability of that feature, and a feature that auto-uploads photos you take on the fly to your status bar and to a dedicated Mobile Photos album.
The logical design and sharp images make fulfilling the rest of your socializing obligations effortless, from reading and updating status messages, writing on walls, and composing and responding to messages in the in-box.
Absent now and sorely missed are the ability to edit your profile and to search for or accept new friends. Oh and one other thing: fans of the smorgasbord of third-party apps? Sorry, but you'll have to play games and quizzes on Facebook.com.

Version: Facebook for iPhone
"It's great but for some reason you cannot access your facebook phonebook"
Pros: The chat is good
The photos look great
Updating your status is cool
Cons: *Cannot access phonebook: this would seem to be and obvious thing to have but if it is in there I have not found it
There is no separate tab for wall posts actually I am not really sure how to post on somebody's wall or look at mine other than going to the website in safari
