Pros
I can keep in contact with my facebook friends at all times. Don't have to be at the computer to do this. I love it. It took a while to download because the app is so large, but it was worth!
Cons
None. Messenger pings me when I have a personal message on facebook.

"Facebook Messenger has a huge memory leak"

Pros
It is useful due to popups and notifications with no 3rd party software needed. So, target of Facebook seems to be achieved.
Cons
During my testing period, there were no significant updates and I have discovered a huge memory leak in Facebook Messenger. I don't think this kind of app as Facebook Messenger should use that much RAM, this time it's even more then my Aptana Development Studio with all the IDE and quite huge active projects in it.
Summary
Shame on Facebook.
I advise to do not try this app at all, at least closest several month. Epic fail by Facebook.

"Great app for chatting and messaging even if offline"

Can see in the status bar of my phone and get an alert when I get a Facebook message of a chat. Now I don't have to be logged into Facebook to chat with my friends!
Cons
None, but voice recognition would be nice!

It doesn't work at all. It brings up a window asking you to log into facebook. Once you do you are in facebook in a browser window just like you went to facebook.com. I assume this is just stealing passwords.

It's exactly the same as a web browser. I am very dissapointed in this chat client, seeing as how it is a browser without an adress bar. If i could give it a negative rating, I would. Worst chat client I've ever downloaded.

This is pretty handy if you don't like to use a browser I guess, but it's about the equivalent of opening a seperate window in any of your choice pick browsers.
Cons
It's not at all like messenger. it's not the stand alone program as you would see with msn or yahoo or even google talk.
Summary
In short it would be great if it could be like a typical messenger that would show you any personal updates as it is in regular facebook. Though there is lag issue in facebook as it is I wonder if this would free up some of the bandwith useage if it was a typical messenger instead. Just the same it would be great if there was a subroutine window for various facebook applicatoins like all the famous ones that take up so much of our lives. I honestly wouldn't bother folks. Avoid it if you can find something better. Digsby wasn't too bad fyi but that too has it's quirks. Still no light for my tunnel yet :(.
